Let's Meet Today's Guest On The Dad Hat Daniel Dluzneski
Today's guest, Daniel Dluzneski, is the author of The First Five Minutes: School Shooting survival guide for Administrators and Teachers. Leading up to the release of his book was a life as a secret service agent, a Coordinator of Emergency Management, Safety, and Security for Pinellas County, Florida, as well as a Fire Inspector for the state of Florida. Bolstering his already impressive credentials, he has attended national seminars and training, active shooter scenarios, and certification through CPTED (crime prevention through environmental design.)
What Freedom Requires Responsibility Means
We cover a lot of ground in today's episode. Daniel Dluzneski barely leaves me a place to interject as he drops knowledge acquired from years in industries that demand preparation for the worst. While this is obviously well-tread territory for Daniel, I do my best to push beyond the general idea and into Daniel's personal experience as a father with a son in school. Is trying to protect kids really that different today, or have we plodded into a NOW that has forgotten the lessons of our past?
No matter your position on the underlying issue, it should go without saying leaving ourselves open to the worst certainly isn't a winning strategy.
